Helene Meyer-Jenni

Helene Meyer-Jenni (born May 15, 1962 , resident in Kriens ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). She has been Cantonal Councilor of Lucerne since 2015 and was re-elected in 2019.

biography

Helene Meyer-Jenni grew up in a large farming family. Her parents leased farms in Hirzel and Horw . Her paternal grandfather ran the Lehn ob Kriens and was a more liberal councilor .

Helene Meyer-Jenni attended secondary school in Horw. In 1981 she trained as a qualified nurse at the St. Anna Clinic in Lucerne . In the same clinic she worked three years later on the learned profession. In 1993 Meyer-Jenni completed an apprenticeship as an individual psychological consultant at the Alfred Adler Institute in Zurich . Various advanced training courses followed, for example in financial management , corporate development or project management .

In 2015 Meyer-Jenni also took over the management of KinderSpitex Central Switzerland and the Presidium of Spitex Kriens .

Helene Meyer-Jenni has been married to Peter Meyer since 1985. She is the mother of adult twins, Simone and Lukas.

Meyer-Jenni was on the board of the SP Kriens from 1995 to 1997 . A year later she became a resident councilor. She held this office until 2000. She then served as a councilor in the Department of Environment and Safety. In 2004 she moved to the education department. At the same time she became mayor of Kriens.

Helene Meyer-Jenni has been a member of the Lucerne Cantonal Council since 2015. There she is a member of the Education, Training and Culture Commission (SFBC).
