Helga Glantschnig

Helga Glantschnig (born March 14, 1958 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Helga Glantschnig grew up in Radenthein / Carinthia . After graduating from high school , she trained as a primary school teacher in Graz . Then studied her pedagogy and philosophy at the University of Graz . 1985 doctorate her there with a thesis on the pedagogy of the German Enlightenment to the doctor of philosophy. She worked as a German teacher for foreign language children in Vienna and also held teaching positions at the University of Graz.

Since 1991 she has published literary texts; since 1994 she has been living as a freelance writer in Vienna . In 2002 she took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt .

Helga Glantschnig is the author of prose texts and poetry .

Helga Glantschnig received a. a. The following awards: 1991 the literary advancement award of the magazine " Manuskripte ", 1994 the literary advancement award of the province of Carinthia , 1995 the literary advancement award of the city of Vienna , 1998 the manuscript award and 2001 the Elias Canetti grant .
