Hellingen is a district of Königsberg in Bavaria in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge about a kilometer west of it. The place has an evangelical church. Until a few years ago there was a football club, FC Hellingen. Hellingen consists largely of farms, but also modern houses.
history
Hellingen was first mentioned in a document in 824, when Folcrat handed over land in "Hasageuue in Heilingo" to the Fulda Monastery 55 Joch.
According to a state treaty between the Grand Duchy of Würzburg and the Duchy of Saxony-Hildburghausen , the Ganerbendorf Hellingen, which had previously belonged to the Saxon office of Königsberg, was ceded to Würzburg in 1807 . In 1808 the place came back to Sachsen-Hildburghausen. From 1826, Hellingen, like Königsberg, belonged to the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg and Gotha until the end of the monarchy in 1918 .
