Hellmuth Greinert

Hellmuth Greinert (born July 29, 1906 in Plauen ; † November 30, 1967 in Bonn ) was a German lawyer , chairman of the supervisory board and politician ( SPD ).

Live and act

Hellmuth Greinert was the son of a foreman. After attending elementary school and secondary school in Düsseldorf , he studied law as a working student in Berlin , Bonn and Cologne from 1926 to 1930 . In 1930 he made the legal traineeship and in 1933 the second state examination . This was followed in the same year as a legal assistant in the Prussian Ministry of Justice.

In 1934 he joined the Rhenish provincial administration , to which he was a district administrator from 1942. In 1945 he took over the finance department of the provincial government of the North Rhine Province . After founding the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in August 1946, he joined the Ministry of Finance. There he was in 1947 for Ministerial and 1949 Ministerialdirigenten appointed.

As the successor to Hugo Rosendahl , Greinert was appointed senior city director of the city of Essen on September 1, 1950 . He was also a member of the German Association of Cities , the Rhineland Regional Association , the Association Committee of the Ruhr Coal District Settlement Association and other non-profit organizations, associations and supervisory boards. Greinert was chairman of the supervisory board of Rheinisch-Westfälische Elektrizitätswerk AG and joined the board of directors on September 1, 1957, to which he belonged until his death. From 1960 he was also Vice President of the Essen Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Greinert rendered outstanding services to the expansion of the municipal hospitals from which the Essen University Hospital emerged .

He was buried in the Bredeney cemetery in Essen .

Honors

Greinert was made an honorary citizen of RWTH Aachen University and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and in 1955 an honorary doctorate from the Medical Academy in Düsseldorf .
