Helmi Mareich

Helmi Mareich (born January 24, 1924 in Graz ; † August 20, 2009 in Vienna ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

Mareich completed her acting training in her hometown Graz. After completing her acting training, she went to Berlin to work as a film actress at UFA . There she played in the films Der Seniorchef , The Eternal Sound and The Black Sheep, among others . In 1943 she played alongside Heinz Rühmann in the film Die Feuerzangenbowle , which premiered in February 1944 . After the bombing of Berlin, Mareich returned to Austria in 1943.

After the Second World War , Mareich initially received engagements in Vorarlberg and Linz . 1953 was under the direction of Leon Epp ans Volkstheater engaged, the fixed member of the ensemble it remained until their retirement 1987th

Mareich played Donna Elvira in Don Juan or Die Liebe zur Geometrie , the fairy Rosalinde in Der Barometermacher auf der Zauberinsel by Ferdinand Raimund , Ann Putnam in witch hunt by Arthur Miller , the wife of Fischer in A Joke at the Volkstheater Wien make yourself by Johann Nestroy as well as the Sidonie in The bitter tears of Petra by Kant by Rainer Werner Fassbinder .

In addition, she was repeatedly seen in television series and TV films . In 1964 she took on the role of Betty in The Supports of the Society from Henrik Ibsen for Austrian television . At the side of Fritz Eckhardt , she starred in the television series Wenn der Vater mit dem Sohne und Hallo - Hotel Sacher… Portier! . She was seen in smaller roles in two episodes of the Tatort television series .

Mareich died in Vienna in August 2009 at the age of 85. The Vienna Volkstheater paid tribute to Helmi Mareich on the occasion of her death as a "sensitive, nature-loving and philosophically educated actress with a big heart".
