Helmut Dorner (painter)
Helmut Dorner (* 1952 in Gengenbach ) is a German painter .
life and work
Helmut Dorner studied from 1976 to 1983 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Gerhard Richter . In 1989, Dorner was appointed to a professorship at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe .
In 1992 Dorner took part in documenta IX in Kassel. 2006 was the retrospective Helmut Dorner. Painting from 1988–2005 shown in the Kunstmuseum Winterthur , in the Quadrat Bottrop and in the Saarlandmuseum in Saarbrücken.
Works by Helmut Dorner belong to the collections of the Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst in Gent, the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, the Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain de Strasbourg in Strasbourg, the Kunsthalle Bern and the CaixaForum Barcelona .
