Helmut Kolitzus

Helmut Kolitzus (born October 26, 1948 in Gütersloh ) is a German psychosomaticist , psychiatrist , supervisor, teaching therapist and author.

Life

After graduating from a humanistic grammar school, Kolitzus attended the Leibniz College ( Studium generale ) in Tübingen in 1967/68 and studied law for two semesters. From 1968 to 1971 he studied at the University of Television and Film in Munich with a degree as a documentary filmmaker. The subject of the diploma thesis was the 15-minute reality of the 'Tagesschau' . In Munich, Kolitzus belonged to a group around the psychiatrist Walter Hoppe , who had returned from exile in Israel and who practiced Wilhelm Reich's therapy method. Here Kolitzus made the decision to become a psychiatrist himself. This was followed by studying medicine from 1972 to 1978 at the LMU and TU Munich . Kolitzus wrote his doctoral thesis under Albrecht Struppler on recent results on the pathophysiology of myasthenia gravis .

Kolitzus then worked in internal medicine, neurology and psychiatry. From 1982 to 1986 he was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry , as well as a public relations officer.

Kolitzus worked as chief physician from 1986 to 1991: first in the day clinic for the mentally ill of the BRK in Munich, then in the daytop clinic in Graefelfing (drug weaning), and from 1989 to 1991 in the Sierra Tucson Clinic in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .

Since 1991 he has been running a practice in Munich. He works as a lecturer at further training institutes for psychotherapy / psychosomatics / psychiatry. Since 1990, he also holds seminars and lectures addiction and co-dependency in the workplace or burnout - prevention at companies and government agencies.

Kolitzus is the author of publications on psychiatry and the media, addiction and codependency, prevention, burnout and salutogenesis . Since 1986 he has had around 100 appearances in the media, including at Suchtwoche (ZDF), Nachtcafé (SWR), Questions to the Author (BR), The Consultation Hour , Fliege (ARD), Volle Kanne ZDF and Brisant (BR).
