Helmut Martin (* 25. November 1963 ) is a German politician of the CDU and since April 2018 a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Life and professional activities

After graduating from high school at the city wall in Bad Kreuznach in 1982, Martin signed up for two years as a temporary soldier in the armed forces . From 1984 to 1990 he studied law in Mainz and Bonn . After his legal clerkship in Mainz and Speyer until 1993, he worked as a research assistant at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and at the Chamber of Crafts in Rheinhessen until 1994.

Martin received his doctorate in 1994 in Mainz on the subject of state parliamentary group financing in Rhineland-Palatinate .

From 1998 to 1999 he studied real estate economics at EBS in Oestrich-Winkel .

From 1994 to 2002 Martin worked at Deutsche Bau- und Bodenbank / Aareal Bank. Since 2002 he has been a partner in the law firm NEUSSELMARTIN with branches in Bad Kreuznach and Mainz.

politics

As the successor to Julia Klöckner in the Bad Kreuznach constituency, Martin has been a member of the state parliament and member of the legal and petitions committee since April 1, 2018 . He is also a member of the judges' selection committee.

Since 2001 he has been chairman of the working group of Christian Democratic Jurists (ACDJ) in Rhineland-Palatinate and since 2015 deputy. Chairman of the Federal Working Group of Christian Democratic Jurists (BACDJ).

Martin is a member of the state board of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate.
