Helmut Reitemann

Helmut Reitemann (born October 30, 1959 in Isny im Allgäu ) is a German local politician ( CDU ). He has been Lord Mayor of Balingen since 2007 .

After training as a banker , Reitemann completed a degree in high-level administration and an extra-occupational degree in business administration (VWA) . He held various positions in local government, including in the Sigmaringen district and in the Lake Constance district .

In 2007 he applied for the post of Lord Mayor in Balingen. In the first ballot on March 4, 2007, Reitemann was still 5.4 percentage points behind the FDP candidate Dietmar Foth with 30.8 percent. On March 18, 2007, however, Helmut Reitemann was finally elected as the new mayor of Balingen in the second ballot with 39.1 percent of the vote and 4.7 percentage points ahead of Foth.

For his second term of office, Reitemann prevailed on March 8, 2015 in the first ballot with 82.3 percent. The only opposing candidate was Peter Seifert (Greens), who also ran in 2007 and reached 5th place.
