Helmut Vandrei

Helmut Vandrei (born November 10, 1922 in Kummersdorf , † October 6, 1983 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Helmut Vandrei attended an elementary school and did an apprenticeship as a machine fitter . In 1941, he was from the Wehrmacht confiscated and fell in 1945 in Soviet captivity .

After the Second World War , Vandrei returned to Berlin in 1949 and from 1952 worked as a machine fitter at Berliner Maschinenbau . In 1957 he joined the SPD. In 1960 he became a full-time trade union secretary at IG Metall in the Reinickendorf and Wedding districts . In the Berlin election in 1967 , Vandrei was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In 1971 he left parliament.
