Helmut Wulz

Helmut Wulz (born May 22, 1936 ) is a Carinthian folklorist , musician , journalist and author .

Wulz grew up with four siblings on a mountain farm in the Karawanken Mountains . He graduated from the teacher training college in Klagenfurt and then studied music education and composition in Vienna at the Vienna Music Academy (with Alfred Uhl, among others ) and folklore and German studies at the University of Vienna (with Kranzmayer, among others ).

1962–1968 Wulz was a teacher in Klagenfurt . In 1964 he founded the a cappella choir in Villach , with which he undertook international tours. From 1970 headed the folk culture department at the ORF regional studio in Carinthia. In addition, he was involved in the Carinthian Folk Song Society and the Carinthian Singing Association . In addition to records with the choir, he published several folklore works.
