The Hemiphacidiaceae form a family of fungi within the order of the Helotiales .
features
As fruiting bodies, the Hemiphacidiaceae form apothecia sunk into the tissue of the host plant , which tear open circularly or slit when ripe. A peridium is hardly formed. The layer between the tubes consists of simple paraphyses , sometimes thickened at the apex. The tubes themselves have an amyloid (which can be dyed with iodine) or inyamyloid apical ring . The normally septate ascospores are hyaline or brown and are sometimes in a shell. The secondary crop forms are coelomycetic . There is no stroma .
ecology
Hemiphacidiaceae are restricted to temperate areas of the northern hemisphere . Most species are saprotrophic or parasitic within the host ( endophytic ) . You are on conifers limited with the exception of species of the genus Chlorencoelia which also angiosperms affected.
Systematics
Richard Paul Korf described the family in 1962. They originally only contained small phytopathogenic species on needles. Molecular biological analyzes showed that larger species such as Heyderia also belong, which first form an endophytic way of life on conifers and then large fruiting bodies on dead leaves. The following genera belong to the Hemiphacidiaceae family:
