Hendrik Fagel
Hendrik Fagel (since 1815 Hendrik Baron Fagel ; born March 21, 1765 in Amsterdam , † March 22, 1838 in The Hague ) was a Dutch politician and diplomat.
Hendrik Fagel was the brother of Robert Fagel and, as Secretary of State ( Griffier ) , negotiated and concluded the league of Holland with Prussia and England in 1794 , then followed the inheritance holder Wilhelm V to England. In 1809 he joined the Prince of Orange as a volunteer in the army of Archduke Charles . He returned to Holland with William I in 1813 , signed the peace treaty between Great Britain and the Netherlands in London, and became the Dutch envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary in the United Kingdom in 1815 . In 1829 he was appointed minister without portfolio , as well as minister of state.
