Since 1991, Henke-Sass, Wolf of America Inc. in Dudley ( Massachusetts ) has had a branch in the USA with 190 employees. Further locations have been in Nowy Tomyśl, Poland, since 1994 and in Qingdao in the east of the People's Republic of China since 2006 . In October 2015, Klaus Wenkert Medizintechnik GmbH in Seitingen-Oberflacht was also acquired. history

On August 15, 1921, the Henke company was founded by Georg Andreas Henke. Henke manufactures his first products, injection syringes, in a cellar at Gerberstrasse 13 in Tuttlingen. In 1932 the company had around 50 employees. In 1938, the Henke company also started producing cannulas. In 1956 the Henke company developed the calibrated and therefore exchangeable glass cylinder for syringes. During the economic boom , the company also manufactured hearing aids and, inspired by the success of the DUAL company from St. Georgen , record players and changers. In 1956 the company acquired a larger factory building in Tuttlinger Kronenstrasse, and the company now had around 400 employees.

In 1960 the Berlin endoscopy producer Sass, Wolf & Co., founded by Albert Sass and Hans Kollmorgen in 1922, was taken over. In 1965 Georg Andreas Henke sold the company to the American conglomerate Litton Industries. The US company introduced the production of disposable plastic syringes. In 1973, Henke and Berlin-based Sass, Wolf & Co. merged to form Henke-Sass, Wolf GmbH. Endoscope production in Berlin is closed at the end of 1972 and relocated to Tuttlingen. In 1976, the current owner of the company, Jochen Busch, bought the company Henke-Sass, Wolf. Since then, the company has concentrated on the manufacture of products in the field of medical endoscopy, veterinary medicine, flow measurement technology and the manufacture of syringes and needles. In 1987 a new plant was built in the Möhringen district of Tuttlingen. The building in the Gänsäcker industrial area has also been the headquarters since 2008. Starting in 2008, the current campus of Furtwangen University will develop from the company building in Kronenstrasse . Henke-Sass, Wolf is committed to the support association of the Tuttlingen university campus.
