Henner Barthel

Henner Barthel (born April 23, 1947 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German speech scientist . From 1994 until his retirement in 2012 he held the chair for speech science at the University of Koblenz-Landau .

Life

After Henner Barthel had studied speech , German and psychology at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg from 1967 to 1971 , he passed the corresponding diploma examination in 1971 . From 1971 to 1976 he was a research assistant at the University of Leipzig . From 1976 to 1991 Barthel was a research assistant or senior assistant at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1979 he received his doctorate .

From 1980 to 1981 Barthel completed a postdoctoral certificate course in psycholinguistics at the Pushkin Institute in Moscow . In 1987 he successfully defended his dissertation B (corresponds to a habilitation thesis) on the subject of "Psycholinguistic foundations for a theory of linguistic communication activity for physically and mentally injured people", which he later published as an "Introduction to Pathopsycholinguistics".

At the Humboldt University in Berlin, he received a professorship for applied linguistics and rhetoric in 1992 . As the successor Hellmut Geißners Barthel was from 1994 to 2012 professor of speech science at the University of Koblenz-Landau at the site Landau , where he headed the Department of Speech Science.

Focus

Barthel's work focuses on oral communication and phonotactics , argumentation theory , communication disorders, ethnorhetorics and the art of declamation .
