Henrik Eichenauer (born July 7, 1968 ) is a former German soccer player .
He played eleven times in the Bundesliga for Waldhof Mannheim and 125 times in the 2nd Bundesliga for Darmstadt 98 .
Career
In his youth he played for his hometown club SG Hüttenfeld as well as for SC Heppenheim and 1. FC Kaiserslautern . He signed his first professional contract with SV Waldhof Mannheim . The young player was featured 9 times under coach Klaus Schlappner in his first Bundesliga season. In his third game on November 29, 1986, he scored his first and only Bundesliga goal against FC 08 Homburg . In the first half of the 1987/88 season he only made two appearances under the new SVW coach Felix Latzke .
During his time in Mannheim, he took part in the U-20 World Cup in 1987 in Chile , where he was used four times and contributed a goal in the semi-final match against the hosts. He was also active for the U-21 national team , where he came on a mission (1989 against Bulgaria).
From January 1988 he was under contract with SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga . His former Waldhöfer trainer Klaus Schlappner had been with the “Lilien” since the beginning of the season. In the first six months, Eichenauer was unable to assert himself and only played four games as a substitute by the end of the season. The team, however, was successful in the league and ended the season in third place in the table, which meant participation in the relegation games. Schlappner and Eichenauer met their ex-club Waldhof Mannheim here. Eichenauer was not used. The decision was only made in the third game after a penalty shoot-out, albeit to the disadvantage of Darmstadt. In the following season Eichenauer became a regular player under the new coach Werner Olk and also a goal scorer under his successor Eckhard Krautzun . The Darmstadt team had to orientate themselves down in the table from the 1989/90 season at the latest . In that season, the relegation was only achieved through the better goal difference against KSV Hessen Kassel and a year later through the withdrawal of Rot-Weiss Essen's license . 1992/93 they finally rose from bottom of the table in the league. This was also Eichenauer's last season at SV Darmstadt 98. By October 1992, he played a total of 125 games for Darmstadt, scoring 35 goals. For the lilies he was the top scorer internally in the 1988/89 and 1990/91 seasons with 14 and 13 goals each season.
In 2003 Eichenauer was still playing active football at SG Hüttenfeld in the regional league.
