Henrik Kreutz

Henrik Kreutz (born November 14, 1938 in Budapest ) is a German social anthropologist and sociologist . Until 2007 he held the chair for sociology and social anthropology (today: chair for empirical economic sociology) at the then economic and social science faculty of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

Kreutz studied sociology in Cologne and Vienna , where he completed his habilitation in 1972. From 1972 to 1974 he held a professorship in Hamburg , from 1974 he held a professorship for general sociology and empirical social research in Hanover . From 1980 to 2007 he researched and taught in Nuremberg . His research interests include general sociology, social anthropology and development research, empirical social research , educational , knowledge , family and youth sociology, and financial sociology .

Kreutz has developed his own theoretical approach that is based on pragmatism and which he calls pragmatic sociology .
