Henrik Lund (politician)

Frederik Louis Jørgen Henrik Lund (born March 17, 1939 in Qaqortoq ; † 2003 ) was a Greenlandic politician ( Siumut ), consul general and journalist .

Life

Henrik Lund was the son of the catechist Niels Jakob Louis Lund (1900–1979) and his wife Magdalene Bolette Ane Lynge (1902–?). His grandfather was the poet Henrik Lund (1875–1948). His mother was the sister of Augo Lynge (1899-1959). He himself married the educator Bente Svenningsen (* 1941) on June 21, 1968. The marriage was divorced on June 30, 1985.

Henrik Lund was mayor of the municipality of Qaqortoq from 1975 to 1993 and from 1997 , only interrupted by Isak Trolle . From 1989 to 1993 he was also a council member of the Narsaq community .

He was trained as a teacher in Nuuk and Skive and studied at the University of Iceland . He was often involved as the founder of the Avataq fish factory , co-founder of the Greenland crockery Kalaallit Nunaata Ammerivia , chairman of the Arctic Hotel Corporation , member of the supervisory board of the Upernaviarsuk shepherd station , the Sulisartut Højskoliat and the tax council, as a cultural exchange arranger between Iceland and Greenland and consul general of Iceland. He was also editor of the newspaper Kujataamiu , correspondent of Morgunblaðið , founder and chairman of the Puilasoq Culture House , which made him a cultural mediator between Greenland and Scandinavia, and the culture week in Qaqortoq.

He was a holder of the Dannebrog Order and was awarded the Nersornaat in silver on June 21, 1997 .
