Henry Kläui
Henry Kläui (born May 27, 1880 in Töss (today Winterthur ), † December 1, 1962 in Basel ) was a Swiss painter . His oeuvre includes landscapes, pieces of flowers and portraits.
Life
Henry Kläui grew up in Venice , Milan and Bergamo . He studied painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and at the Karlsruhe Academy . In 1901 he moved to Elsau near Winterthur. Here landscapes and portraits were at the center of his work. But already in 1902 he returned to Florence , later he lived in Rome . This thanks to a grant from Theodor Reinhart. In 1904 he settled in Ticino on Monte Verità , later in Ascona . With Maria Pedrini the artist had two sons (* 1918 and * 1920). From 1925 the family lived in Basel, where Kläui died on December 1, 1962.
Exhibitions
Kläui exhibited a total of three times at the Kunsthaus Zürich .
