Henryk Bista (born March 12, 1934 in Katowice , † October 15, 1997 in Warsaw ) was a Polish actor.

Life

Henryk Bista studied architecture from 1952 to 1954 and then began acting training at the state drama school PWST in Warsaw, which he graduated in 1958. He then received his first engagement at the Teatr Ateneum in Warsaw . In 1960 he moved to the Osterwa Theater in Lublin . From 1962 to 1992 he played in Gdansk at Teatr Wybrzeże . During this time he also worked as an acting teacher in Gdansk and Gdynia . In 1992 he moved to the Warsaw Teatr Współczesny , where he was part of the ensemble until his death.

In addition to his theater work, Henryk Bista has appeared in over 80 film roles since 1961. He was never one of the great film stars of Polish cinema, but played important and noticeable supporting roles in numerous films. He was also cast for international productions. In 1991 Henryk Bista had his first role in a German movie: Mau Mau by Uwe Schrader .

Henryk Bista died in 1997 after a long illness .
