Heo Yeong-mo (born April 21, 1965 in Suncheon ) is a retired South Korean boxer .
In 1982 Heo reached the semi-finals in the light flyweight (-48 kg) at the World Championships in Munich , which he lost to Iwajlo Marinow , Bulgaria (4: 1), and thus won a bronze medal. In the same year he won the Asian Championships in Seoul and the Asian Games in Delhi . At the 1984 Olympic Games , Heo won the flyweight (-51 kg) against Fayek Gobran, Egypt (RSC 1st), and Efreen Tabanas, Philippines (4: 1), before beating Eyüp Can , Turkey (4: 1) in the quarterfinals. , lost.
In 1985 Heo started bantamweight (-54 kg) at the Asian Championships and won the silver medal. In 1987 he was again Asian champion. After he missed the Olympic qualification in 1988 , he ended his career. Heo now works as a teacher in Yeosu , Jeollanam-do .
