Herbert Bauer (Pastor)

Herbert Bauer (born July 1, 1925 in Nuremberg ; † January 21, 2013 ) was a German Protestant pastor .

Career

After completing his training, Bauer first came to Pommersfelden as a pastor . From 1958 to 1972 he was a school clerk in Neuendettelsau . As director of the Laurentius Realschule, he expanded the Realschule into a four-level school for boys and was the founder of the University of Applied Sciences course in religious education at the Augustana University . He also advocated social work as a school subject . Most recently, he united 14 different types of schools under the roof of the Neuendettelsauer Zentralschulhaus . He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his commitment to school.

In 1972 he was the first pastor to come to the Lorenz Church in Nuremberg. At the same time he was vice dean of the Nuremberg-Mitte / Nord district. Until his release in 1988, he formed the church into a modern city ​​church and was a co-founder of the ecumenical conference of pastors in downtown Nuremberg.
