Herbert Cool (born February 9, 1985 in Rotterdam ) is a former Dutch biathlete .
Herbert Cool is an administrative employee and lives in Ruhpolding . He has been running biathlon since 2001 and has been part of the Dutch association since 2003. He is trained by Markus and Fritz Fischer . His first international race was in 2003 as part of the Junior European Cup in Obertilliach . Since the following year he started more regularly in the competition and also appeared for the first time in Kościelisko at a Junior World Championship. He also competed in the Junior World Championships in 2004 in Haute-Maurienne , 2005 in Kontiolahti and 2006 in Presque Isle , he achieved best results in 2006 with 23rd place in the individual and 31st place in sprint and pursuit. There are also starts at the Junior European Championships in the years from 2004 to 2006. Here the 25th place in individual and pursuit as well as 28th in the sprint of Novosibirsk in 2005 were his best results for a long time.
Cool made his debut in the biathlon world cup in 2004 in a sprint race in Pokljuka , where he finished 94th. Further missions followed sporadically. Since 2006 he started more often in the Biathlon European Cup . The best result so far is 17th place in the Osrblie sprint in 2008. His best result in the World Cup so far is 66th place in the 2007 Pokljuka sprint, if you disregard his best performances in international races, which he finished 50th in the sprint and the pursuit reached the 2008 Biathlon World Championships . In February 2011 , Cool achieved 13th place in a single race in Osrblie, his best result so far in the IBU Cup. In the World Cup he was no longer used in the season because the Netherlands no longer have a permanent place in the World Cup after the starting place reform for this season.
Cool is the first notable Dutch biathlete in the World Cup since Erik van Leeuwen , Sander Mossing-Holsteijn and Jeroen Borst in the seasons around the turn of the millennium and the most successful Dutchman in this sport.
