Tobias Reiter (born August 23, 1985 ) is a former German biathlete and today's trainer.

Tobias Reiter was two-time German youth champion in 2006. The federal police officer from ASV Oberwössen took part in the first international competitions as part of the Junior European Cup in 2003. The first major event was the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Kontiolahti , where rider was 25th in the sprint and 23rd in the pursuit race. At the finale of the 2005/06 season Reiter in Martell was able to make his debut in the European Cup and was 40th of the sprint and won first points in the following pursuit as 28th. A ninth place in the Osrblie sprint was his best result in this racing series, which is now called the IBU Cup . With the relay he was able to finish second in the same IBU Cup together with Jon Kristian Svaland , Steve Renner and Daniel Böhm in a mixed German-Norwegian relay. In national terms, Reiter won the titles at the German Championships in 2007 and 2009 with the Bavarian relay team, and in the 2008 DM mass start selection race, he came third at the same time as Arnd Peiffer . In 2008 he reached 13th place in the cup ranking.

After his active career, Reiter became a biathlon trainer. In 2011 he became a trainer at the Bavarian Ski Association together with Frank Hanus and Isidor Scheurl , and in 2012 he was named the best trainer of the year by the DSV after his athlete Franziska Preuß became a three-time youth Olympic champion in the preseason . In 2014 he became assistant coach of Gerald Hönig , the new national coach for German biathletes who was appointed at the same time.

After the 2018 Winter Olympics , Reiter gave up his position as assistant coach of the World Cup team at his own request. The travel-intensive World Cup support was given as the reason. Since the summer of 2018 he has been employed at the Bavarian Police Training Institute in Ainring as a trainer and instructor for the promotion of top-class sport and looks after the police's biathletes full-time.

For the 2020/21 season Reiter returned to the DSV as a trainer of performance group 1b alongside Peter Sendel .
