Herbert Dimmel
Herbert Dimmel (born August 31, 1894 in Ried im Innkreis ; † October 21, 1980 in Linz ) was an Austrian painter and art teacher .
Live and act
He attended high school in Ried im Innkreis , was a soldier in World War I and was a prisoner of war in Siberia for six years .
From 1921 to 1928 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Ferdinand Andri , then was assistant for fresco painting and from 1938 to 1945 professor at the academy. He was a member of the artists' association MAERZ and from 1930 a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus .
During the Nazi era he was the district commissioner for art in the Upper Danube .
From 1947 to 1972 he was director of the master school in the newly founded art school of the city of Linz and was its director from 1949 to 1959.

- Mural in traditional costumes, tobacco factory (1935)
- Stained glass window parish church Mauer near Vienna
- From the world of the child and the pelican (glazed tiles)
- House sign Stieglbauernstrasse 19 to 23 (1955)
- Mosaics village hall school and children's hospital (1956)
- Thun coat of arms, Mozarthaus Altstadt 17 (already painted over in 1957)
- Stone carving relief Altstadt (with Peter Dimmel ), Altstadt 1 (1962)
- The facade design of the Alter Markt (Hofgasse 11/13) from 1960/61

- 1975: Gold medal for services to the Republic of Austria
