Herbert Gernot
Herbert Gernot (born September 12, 1895 in Berlin , † September 12, 1952 in Munich ) was a German actor , director and voice actor .
Life
Gernot, born in Berlin in 1895, excelled both as a stage actor and as a film actor. After the First World War he played in Bonn, Hamburg and Berlin and also appeared in the films Frau im Strom (1939) and Der Herr vom Another Stern (1948). He also appeared in Kabinett Fulero (1940), the first film on German television with music. But he had his greatest success at the Junge Theater in Munich, where he not only acted himself, but also directed. In his last years he worked as a storyteller for the Bavarian radio.
In addition, Gernot also worked as a voice actor and lent his voice a. a. Paul Lukas ( The Girl with the Mask ), Pierre Renoir ( The Last Trump , German version 1942), Jack Holt ( San Francisco , German version 1936) and Joseph Schildkraut ( Cleopatra , German version 1935). Herbert Gernot was also one of the speakers for the UFA Tonwoche.
