Herbert Küttner

Herbert Küttner (born October 10, 1926 in Leipzig ; † February 19, 2010 there ) was a German sports journalist and radio presenter of Radio DDR 1 .

Life

Küttner was an English interpreter and came to Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk , Sender Leipzig, as a freelancer in 1947 . On March 1, 1949, Küttner moved to Berlin to join the newly emerging state radio in the Soviet occupation zone , which in 1952 moved to its headquarters in the Nalepastraße radio station . From December 5, 1955, Küttner moderated the hit magazine at Berliner Rundfunk for a total of 35 years , which he always called “Punkt. Signature. Signed: Herbert Küttner ”ended. Between 1971 and 1989 he was the spokesman for the program Angekreuzt und Underlined on Radio DDR 1 . His wife Johanna also worked for the GDR radio . His nephew is the pop singer Frank Schöbel . In 1988 he was awarded the Silver Patriotic Order of Merit .

Küttner became known as a sports journalist. He hosted among others, the conference call by Radio DDR 1 to Oberliga , reported by the International Peace Race and moderated occasionally also the mission of Sport currently the television of the GDR . Herbert Küttner, known for his distinctive voice, worked for the ORB's Antenne Brandenburg until 1997 .

Küttner died on February 19, 2010 at the age of 83.
