Herbert Kowalewsky

Herbert Kowalewsky (born May 19, 1907 in Kiel ; † June 20, 2003 in Berlin ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending elementary school, Kowalewsky completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator at Deutsche Werke Kiel AG . He worked as a lathe operator at Flohr-OTIS GmbH in Berlin-Borsigwalde , where he was elected chairman of the works council in 1948 .

Kowalewsky had been a member of the SPD since 1925. From 1954 to 1958 he was a district councilor in the district council assembly of Reinickendorf . In the Berlin elections in 1958 , 1963 and 1967 he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In May 1969 he resigned from parliament.
