Herbert Schneider (born October 8, 1922 in Munich-Schwanthalerhöhe ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

After graduating from high school, Herbert Schneider had to do military service. He was unable to realize his dream of becoming a cyclist after 1945. So he became a journalist and writer. From 1950 he worked as an editor and columnist at Münchner Merkur . At the age of 27, he became the youngest co-founder of the Munich Tower Writers' Association . Schneider also worked as a columnist for tz for many years . Over the years he wrote more than 5000 columns, stories, glosses, commentaries, poems, aphorisms and was one of the first dialect authors to publish about the milieu, color and soul of the Munich people with spirit, wit and gentle irony.

Schneider now lives in Ebersberg and has a son and a daughter.
