Herbert Windsor, 2nd Viscount Windsor

Herbert Hickman Windsor, 2nd Viscount Windsor ( May 1, 1707 - January 25, 1758 ) was a British nobleman and politician.

Life

He was the only son of Thomas Windsor, 1st Viscount Windsor , and the Lady Charlotte Herbert.

In 1734 he ran unsuccessfully in the constituency of Bramber for a seat in the British House of Commons . Shortly thereafter, he was instead elected unopposed by the Cardiff constituency, where his family controlled the majority of the votes. He belonged to the Tory party and held his lower house mandate until 1738. In 1738, when his father died, he inherited the Irish title of Viscount Windsor and the British title of Baron Mountjoy , thereby becoming a member of both the Irish and the British House of Lords .

On August 12, 1735, he married Alice Clavering († 1776), daughter of Sir John Clavering, 3rd Baronet. With her he had a son and two daughters:

Since he survived his only son, his nobility titles expired on his death on January 25, 1758.
