Heribert Weber (physicist)

Heribert Weber (born July 6, 1953 in Würzburg ) is a German physicist . From 1999 to 2012 he was President of the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt .

Life

After graduating from high school in Würzburg, Heribert Weber studied mathematics and physics at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . In 1981 he was with a dissertation on the mechanics of the vitreous humor of the eye and the extractability of copper particles with electro-dynamic methods in Würzburg Dr. rer. nat. PhD . He worked in industrial research and received in 1985 a reputation as a professor for applications of data processing and automation technology with a focus on software engineering in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt.

He was the head of the university's central computer center in the Schweinfurt department and vice dean of the electrical engineering department. From 1996 to 1999 he was vice president of the university. On December 16, 1999, the expanded senate of the Würzburg-Schweinfurt-Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences elected Heribert Weber as President of the university. He succeeded Wolfgang Fechner . He accompanied the spin-off of the Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences and the reorganization of the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences. In 2012 Weber was retired as president after two terms in office and was succeeded by Robert Grebner .

Weber was deputy state chairman from 1993 to 1995 and from 1995 to April 1997 state chairman of the Association of University Lecturers at Universities of Applied Sciences in Bavaria. V. He is deputy chairman of the Society of Patrons and Friends of the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences. V. From 2000 to 2010 he was Vice President of the Virtual University of Bavaria . Since 2003 Heribert Weber has been an honorary member of the Catholic student association KDStV Guelfia zu Würzburg in the CV . Since March 2005 he has been an honorary doctor of the technical faculty of the University of Pécs . Heribert Weber has been a member of the University Council of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences since April 2011 , and has also been a member of the University of Augsburg University Council since October 2011 .

Heribert Weber is married and has two daughters.
