Herman Cornejo
Herman Cornejo (born May 13, 1981 in Villa Mercedes , San Luis , Argentina ) is an Argentine ballet dancer . He is a Principal Dancer at the American Ballet Theater .
Life
Herman Cornejo was born in Mercedes ( San Luis ) in Argentina . He began his ballet training at the age of 8 at the Institute of Art at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires . He later continued his training as a scholar at the School of American Ballet in New York . In 1995 he was engaged at the Ballet Argentino.
In 1997 , he became the youngest ever gold medalist in the Moscow International Ballet Competition ( Moscow IBC ). As a result, he was appointed Principal Dancer of the Ballet Argentino and danced all leading roles alongside Julio Bocca during the company's subsequent world tour.
In 1999 he joined the American Ballet Theater . In August 2000 he was made a solo dancer and in 2003 a principal.
