Herman Horn Johannessen (born April 5, 1964 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian sailor .

Herman Horn Johannessen, who is a member of Kongelig Norsk Seilforening , took part in four Olympic Games . At his Olympic debut in 1988 in Seoul , he finished 13th in the 470 dinghy , four years later he improved to fifth place in the same class in Barcelona . In 1996 in Atlanta he was the skipper of the Norwegian boat in the boat class Soling , which finished the regatta in ninth place. The crew of the boat included Paul Davis and Espen Stokkeland . Johannessen, Davis and Stokkeland also formed the crew of the Norwegian participating boat at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney . They finished the preliminary round in the Fleet Race in first place, so that they were directly qualified for the quarter-finals, which took place in the Match Race . In fourth they just reached the semi-finals, in which they were defeated by the Danish boat led by Jesper Bank with 1: 3.
