Hermann Auf der Heide (sculptor)

Hermann Auf der Heide (* 1932 in Alfhausen ; † March 14, 2003 ibid) was a German sculptor and art educator .

Life

After studying sculpture, he was a member of the college of high school in Bersenbrück from 1969 to 1989 , where he taught crafts and art . A serious illness from 1988 onwards forced him to take early retirement from school. His main works include numerous altars , mainly made of sandstone , as well as various statues such as The Crier in his home village of Alfhausen. Furthermore, a large number of African masks were in his possession, which he exhibited occasionally.

Hermann Auf der Heide died on March 14, 2003 in Alfhausen after a long illness.
