The shot put men at the 1994 European Athletics Championships was on 12 and 13 August 1994 at the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki held.

In this competition the Ukrainian shot putters celebrated a triple success. European champion was the Russian World Cup third in 1991 Oleksandr Klymenko . He won ahead of Oleksandr Bahatsch , who won the 1993 World Cup bronze. Third place went to Roman Wirastjuk .

qualification

August 12, 1994

25 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 19.80 m. No competitor reached this mark. The final field now consisted of the twelve best-placed shot putters from both groups (highlighted in light green). To take part in the finals, 18.64 m had to be achieved.
