Hermann Avenarius

Hermann Avenarius (born January 2, 1938 in Hamm ) is a German lawyer. He is Professor Emeritus for Public Law and Administrative Law at DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

From 1959 Avenarius studied law , political science and history at the universities of Munich , Bonn , Cologne and Freiburg and completed his studies in 1964 with the first state examination at the Hamm Higher Regional Court . He then worked from 1964 to 1975 as a research assistant and then as managing director at the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute in Freiburg im Breisgau . During this time he did his legal clerkship from 1966 to 1969 at the Freiburg Higher Regional Court and passed the second state examination in 1969. It was in 1972 at the University of Freiburg Doctor of Laws PhD . In 1975 he was appointed professor for public law and administrative science at the German Institute for International Educational Research . From 1985 to 1990 he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

The focus of his academic work is international comparative research in the field of educational law and administration as well as publications on school law . He is the author of the school law founded by Hans Heckel (7th edition 2007).
