Hermann Bayer (painter, 1829)
Johann Otto Hermann Bayer (born February 23, 1829 in Kunitz ; † November 16, 1893 in Breslau ) was a German genre painter , draftsman and teacher.
Act
Hermann Bayer learned from Carl Steffeck at the Berlin Academy .
He then worked as a drawing teacher in Liegnitz , Guben and Breslau. In Breslau he then also founded his own drawing school . Gertrud Staats , for example, was a student with him. Bayer especially painted landscape motifs and still lifes . He left an extensive body of work.
family
His daughter Käthe (1860–1942) married the doctor and privy councilor Oskar Robert Dyhrenfurth (1850–1932). The geologist and mountaineer Günter Oskar Dyhrenfurth emerged from the marriage.
