Hermann Biechele (born March 1, 1918 in Konstanz , † April 15, 1999 in Tuttlingen ) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and graduating from high school in Singen in 1937 , Biechele initially did Reich labor service and service in the Wehrmacht . From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier , was wounded several times and finally made a first lieutenant. According to his verdict chamber file, Biechele was not a member of the NSDAP . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the French, from which he was released in 1946. Since 1945 he was a member of the scientific Catholic student association Unitas- Paulus Freiburg.

In 1946, Biechele began studying history and German at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg , which he completed in 1950 with the first state examination and in 1952 with the second state examination for higher education. He then entered the school service and had been a teacher at the grammar school in Radolfzell on Lake Constance since 1954 and later switched to a position at the Sigmund Freud State Clinic.

Political party

Biechele had been a member of the CDU and the Junge Union since 1946 . From 1955 to 1977 he was chairman of the CDU district association Konstanz-Land.

MP

In the 1961 federal election, Biechele was elected to the German Bundestag via a direct mandate in Constance , to which he was a member for five terms until 1980.

Others

In the municipality of Gaienhofen a street is named after Biechele.

His son-in-law Volker Kauder was chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag from 2005 to 2018.
