Hermann Eigruber

Hermann Eigruber (born October 2, 1930 in Steyr ; † March 25, 2013 in Linz ) was an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and businessman. Eigruber was a member of the National Council from 1983 to 1990 .

Eigruber was selected as one of five sons of the late NS - Gauleiter August Eigruber born and attended after compulsory schooling a Technical college and trained as electrical engineer. In his learned profession he worked for the company Wella und Elektro-Bau AG and in 1955 he started his own business in the chemical-technical trade and building materials trade. He was an authorized signatory of the Asbiton company and from 1975 managing director of the Compriband-Dichtungen company. He was awarded the professional title of Commercial Councilor.

Eigruber was politically active from 1979 to 1988 as federal chairman of the Ring of Freedom of Commerce and from 1980 was a local councilor in the city of Traun . In 1982 he also took over the office of Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce for Upper Austria . Eigruber represented the FPÖ in the National Council from May 19, 1983, but was expelled from the FPÖ in 1990 after he did not want to give up his politician pension according to the old scheme in the course of the conversion to a new system of politicians' pensions.

In 2001 he was awarded the Silver Medal of Honor of the Province of Upper Austria . Eigruber died on March 25, 2013.
