Hermann Immermann

Hermann Immermann (born September 2, 1838 in Magdeburg , † June 13, 1899 in Basel ) was a German internist and university professor.

Life

Immermann first studied medicine at the Friedrichs University Halle and the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . In 1858 he was in the Corps Nassovia Würzburg recipiert . As an inactive , he moved to the Royal University of Greifswald , the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the Friedrich Wilhelms University of Berlin . As a student of Felix von Niemeyer , he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD . In 1864 he became assistant to v. Niemeyer. He completed his habilitation with him in 1866. At that time he was a secondary doctor at the Erlangen Polyclinic. In 1871 he followed the call of the University of Basel to the chair of internal medicine . He was director of the medical clinic for over 28 years. He died in office at the age of 61. In 1888 he was elected to the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina .
