Hermann Kroell
Hermann Kröll (born June 11, 1939 in Sankt Johann am Tauern , Styria , † September 17, 2016 in Schladming ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and insurance employee. Kröll was a member of the National Council from 1996 to 1999 .
Life
education and profession
After attending primary school in Admont , Hohentauern and St. Johann am Tauern between 1945 and 1953, Kröll learned the profession of electrical installer in Vienna and Graz between 1954 and 1956 . In 1957 Kröll switched to a butcher's apprenticeship, which he completed in 1960. Kröll did military service from 1960 to 1961 and passed the master craftsman examination in 1965 .
After working as an agricultural and forestry worker, Kröll worked as an electrician and mechanic between 1953 and 1954 to 1957. He then worked from 1957 to 1965 as a butcher and selcher. In 1965 Kröll changed his profession again and subsequently worked as an insurance employee, where he made it up to the district director of the federal state insurance .
politics
He began his political commitment in 1965 in the Schladming municipal council and was elected mayor in 1975. As a member of parliament, he represented the ÖVP from 1981 to 1991 as a member of the Styrian Landtag and was a member of the National Council from January 15, 1996 to October 28, 1999. Within the party, Kröll held the office of local party chairman of the ÖVP Schladming between 1977 and 1996 and was also district party chairman of the ÖVP Gröbming from 1974 to 1996 . In addition, from 1991 to 1996 he was a member of the state party executive of the ÖVP Styria and from 1992 was chairman of the Styrian Association of Municipalities and from 1993 Vice-President of the Austrian Association of Municipalities. In 2005 Kröll resigned from his position as mayor.
In 1993 Kröll became President of the Special Olympics Austria.
