Hermann Kunisch

Hermann Kunisch (born October 27, 1901 in Osnabrück , † February 24, 1991 in Munich ) was a German literary historian .

From 1930 he was part-time and from 1935 to 1945 full-time employee at the German dictionary . During the National Socialist era , Kunisch was a member of the NSLB . Kunisch held a professorship at the Free University of Berlin before moving to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 1955 , where he taught as a professor for modern German literature until his retirement in 1969. He was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit on June 9, 1969 .

His son Johannes Kunisch (1937–2015) was Professor of Early Modern History at the Universities of Frankfurt am Main and Cologne.
