Hermann Ott (1895–1977)

Hermann Ott (born August 11, 1895 in Brake, † December 24, 1977 in Oldenburg (Oldb) ) was a German governor and senior district director .

Life

Born as the son of a general practitioner, Ott went to the Oldenburg high school and did his military service with the 2nd Kurhessian Infantry Regiment No. 82 , with which he took part in the First World War from 1914 to 1918 . He studied law in Jena . During his studies in 1918 he became a member of the Germania Jena fraternity .

After graduating, he went in 1924 in the Oldenburg government service and was Regierungsassessor in Oldenburg and Eutin before Regierungsrat in Oldenburg was the Interior Ministry. In 1927 he was a full member of the government in the Lübeck region of Eutin. He became a deputy member of the Oldenburg Local Insurance Office and the Oldenburg Supply Court. From 1928 to 1932 he was the governor in Westerstede , then until 1933 in Butjadingen and until 1937 in Friesland . In 1937 he joined the NSDAP (membership number 4,436,579). In 1937 he was governor in Wesermarsch and from 1937 to 1945 again in Friesland.

The British occupation forces dismissed him. He worked as a legal assistant for a lawyer in Westerstede . In 1948 he became chairman of the arbitration board in housing matters in the district of Ammerland . From 1949 to 1960 he was senior district director of the Ammerland district.
