Hermann-Josef Scharf (born April 8, 1961 in Oberthal ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After completing secondary school in 1978 at a commercial school , Scharf completed an apprenticeship as a merchant in wholesale and foreign trade and then worked in a specialist wholesaler for paper and stationery. In 1986 he switched to WVW water and energy supply in the St. Wendel district . Since 1992 he has been managing director of Lebenshilfe for the mentally handicapped in the St. Wendel district .

Political party

Scharf joined the Junge Union in 1975 and the CDU in 1981. He is a member of the board of the CDU district association St. Wendel.

MP

Scharf has been a member of the Oberthal community council since 1984 and has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there since 2009. From 1989 to 2005 he was also a member of Oberthal's local council . From 1994 to 2005 he was also a member of the district council of the St. Wendel district. From August 1, 2001, when he replaced the resigned MP Kerstin Backes-Ternig , until 2005, Scharf was a member of the Saarland State Parliament . After the state elections in 2009 , he moved back into the state parliament via the Neunkirchen constituency list . Also in the state elections in 2012 and 2017, Scharf again moved into the Saarland state parliament. He has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since April 2017.

After being in the 2005 election as a candidate for the St. constituency spiral with a difference of 898 votes the SPD candidate Rainer Tabillion was inferior, advanced sniper on 30 November 2005 for the retiring MPs Peter Müller on the national list Saarland in the Bundestag gradually was a member of the German Bundestag until the end of the electoral term .
