Hermann Sibrand

Hermann Sibrand , also Siebrand , (born August 13, 1645 in Rostock , † September 13, 1712 in Stettin ) was a German lawyer, he was mayor of Stettin.

Life

Hermann Sibrand was a son of the Mecklenburg State Legal Counsel Heinrich Sibrand and the grandson of the Rostock City General Counsel Johann Sibrand the Elder . He studied at the universities of Rostock , Helmstedt and Kiel . He then continued his studies in Rostock and in the meantime attended the University of Lund . After traveling through the Netherlands, France, Italy, Hungary and Bohemia , he obtained his doctorate in 1674 . As the successor to his brother Johann Sibrand the Younger, he became a full professor of morality and city syndic of Rostock.

In 1680 he took over the office of city syndic of Stettin, which at that time belonged to Swedish Pomerania . There he was mayor from 1702 until the end of his life in 1712 . He was also the municipal district administrator .
