Hermann Undeutsch

Hermann Undeutsch (born August 11, 1844 in Kahla ; † January 17, 1912 in Freiberg ) was a German engineer and university professor.

Life

Hermann Undeutsch studied from 1864 to 1867 at the Dresden Polytechnic , where he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering. From 1869 he worked for a year as an assistant at the Dresdner Städtische Gaswerke and as a teacher at the trade school of the trade association Dresden , after which he became a civil servant at the Gutehoffnungshütte in Sterkrade . In 1871 he became director of the trade school in Hagen .

On April 1, 1874, Undeutsch was appointed professor of mechanics and mining engineering at the Bergakademie Freiberg . In 1896 it was named Bergrat and in 1901 Oberbergrat. In 1905 he was awarded the Knight's Cross 1st Class of the Royal Saxon Order of Albrecht with a crown. In 1910 he received the title of Secret Mountain Ridge . For health reasons he retired in 1910, and died in Freiberg in 1912. His grave is on the Donatsfriedhof in Freiberg .
