Hermann August Wilhelm Stockmann (born February 23, 1848 in Steinrade ; † December 28, 1924 in Kiel ) was the district president and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Stockmann attended high school in Lübeck and the universities of Berlin and Göttingen . During his studies he became a member of the Gottinga Landsmannschaft . In April 1873 he obtained his doctorate in law in Göttingen. On September 1, 1873 he became a trainee lawyer, on February 23, 1878 court assessor and on July 1, 1878 district judge in Itzehoe . In 1882 he became consistorial assessor in Kiel, in 1886 consistorial councilor, 1890 member of the state consistory in Hanover , 1892 senior consistory advisor, 1895 senior government advisor and director of the consistory in Wiesbaden . In 1896 he became consistorial president there and on June 9, 1898 he started in the same position in Münster in Westphalia .

On October 1, 1869, he volunteered with the 2nd Guards Regiment on foot in Berlin and took part in the war against France and was promoted to captain in the reserve of the regiment or with the 2nd Guards Landwehr Regiment which he received on his application in April 1898 with permission to wear the previous uniform. He was also an honorary member of the German Warrior League.

From 1898 to 1905 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and also from 1898 to 1905 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Province of Schleswig-Holstein 9 Oldenburg in Holstein , Plön and the German Reich Party .

On October 1, 1905, he was appointed district president in Gumbinnen and, at his request, retired on July 1, 1913.
