Hermann von Gemmingen

Hermann Ferdinand Friedrich August von Gemmingen (* March 30, 1820 ; † July 30, 1891 ) was an Imperial and Royal officer and landlord in Babstadt .

He was a son of Ernst Franz Ludwig von Gemmingen (1795–1834) and Sophie Dorothea Luise Christiane von Degenfeld. He was taught in Heilbronn , then attended the Lyceum in Mannheim and in 1838 joined the Imperial and Royal Cuirassier Regiment Graf Hardegg zu Podiebrad in Bohemia as a cadet . In 1842 he was a lieutenant in the Imperial and Royal Hussar Regiment of Emperor Nicolaus. In 1845 he resigned from the military and devoted himself to the administration of the property inherited from his father in Babstadt. He died of a stroke and was buried in Babstadt, where his tomb and that of his wife have been preserved.

From 1819 he was married to Pauline Maximiliane Philippine von Ellrichshausen (1825-1865). Daughter Mathilde became the mother of the future German Foreign Minister Konstantin von Neurath , son Ernst hit a career as württembergischer officer, a son William went to the US and became a farmer, Karl was municipal president in Lorraine and son Fritz married the daughter of the industrialist Gustav Siegle , about the significant ownership of historical buildings in the Upper Palatinate came into the family.
