Emanuel Schulz (born March 2, 1975 in Vienna ) is an Austrian composer and conductor . He has also been a registered human energetic specialist since 2013.

origin

Emanuel Schulz comes from a well-known Viennese family of musicians. His mother is Ingeborg Schulz; his father Walther Schulz, principal cellist with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and cellist with the Haydn Trio Vienna .

education

Emanuel Schulz began to play the piano at the age of six, and later also the violin. At the Vienna Music University he studied composition with Iván Eröd , media composition with Klaus-Peter Sattler , conducting with Leopold Hager and violin with Gerhard Schulz . He graduated with a master's degree .

composer

Emanuel Schulz received composition commissions in the fields of theater, film, concerts and corporate music. His specialties are the inclusion of foreign cultures (India, Africa), the translation of archetypal prototypes into music and the artistic work with and for young people. He composed several stage works for the Jeunesse Musicale : the children's opera The Stranger Planet and the oratorio Lichtung . He composed the children's opera Märchen Matrix for the Vienna Boys' Choir , which was premiered in the Wiener Musikverein and followed by performances in the Wiener Kammeroper.

Compositions in the field of theater / film are Hamlet - the film in the Off Theater Vienna, the musical Homodrom in the Studio Moliere Vienna, William Blake 's Divine Humanity in the New Player's Theater London and several image films for Telemach Film (including for the Goldman ) as well as for Ecoduna. He was responsible for the compositions and sound design for the play Mahabharata im Dschungel Wien (Theaterhaus). Emanuel Schulz composed corporate music for the Hotel Imperial Vienna, Hirsch Armbänder Klagenfurt, Modern Mind Marketing and Hotel Bristol Vienna.

The musician received commissions for intercultural compositions from the Vienna Philharmonic ( Mangaung String Program, South Africa) and the Festival Allegro Vivo (under the direction of Bijan Khadem-Missagh ) for the Indian western oratorio Puja Trinity . Its world premiere was broadcast on Ö1 and was released in 2008 on the ORF CD Metamorphosen .
The music by Eliem (Emanuel and Elisabeth Schulz) is dedicated to the divine feminine , the archetypal principle of the Great Mother , according to his own statement ; Pop style .

Emanuel Schulz was on the podium with the Vienna Boys' Choir, the Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich, the MAV Symphony Orchestra Budapest, the Orchestra Sinfonica Portuguesa, the Gustav Mahler Academy Bozen and the Vienna Mozart Orchestra. He conducted, among other things. in the Wiener Musikverein , Wiener Konzerthaus , at the Carinthian Summer and in the Vienna State Opera. CD publications with Camerata Tokyo a. In 2003 he took over the musical direction of the “Mozart Concerts Schloss Stuppach ”. This concert series is primarily dedicated to Mozart's rarities. Since 2008 he has been artistic director of the Camerata Schulz , which was founded in 2000 by the former solo flutist of the Vienna Philharmonic, Wolfgang Schulz (1946–2013).

Emanuel Schulz has worked with Paul Gulda , Melvyn Tan , Hans-Jörg Schellenberger , Christian Altenburger , Sebastian Holecek , Werner Hollweg , musicians from the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic , the television presenter Hans Georg Heinke , the Ensemble Wien-Berlin, the director Titus Hollweg , the Indian artist Prabhakar Dhakade Guruji and rock musician Matthew Malley (- former member of the Counting Crows formation ; player of the Mohan Veena ). Furthermore, collaborations with Franz Bartolomey, Wolfgang Schulz, Walter Auer , Volkhard Steude (Steude Quartet), the Haydn Trio Vienna and the Japanese harpist Naoko Yoshino.

Teaching activities

Emanuel Schulz has taught at the Allegro Vivo Summer Academy, the University of Bloemfontein (South Africa) and at the Gustav Mahler Academy Bozen (artistic director: Claudio Abbado ).

From 2012 to 2013 he ran the opera workshop of the Vienna Boys 'Choir together with the director Titus Hollweg : the opera U-Musik was written, composed and performed together with students from the upper secondary school of the Vienna Boys' Choir.

Projects

"Archetypes"

Emanuel Schulz developed the system "Archetype Music" (archetype music), in which he assigns the original characters of humanity (archetypes according to CG Jung ) to the musical keys and instruments. This system and an associated so-called "archetypes music test" are used in the following areas: corporate music, brand development (Lower Austria climate program, Schilcherland), music consulting ( Schönbrunn Palace Christmas & Easter market), personal archetype advice, individual compositions and "archetypal medicine" ( Goldenes Kreuz Private Clinic).

Music energetics

Together with his wife Elisabeth, Schulz has developed a method that combines the western key system, the theory of archetypes and Indian music therapy. Workshops are offered under the title FeelHarmonie and Feelharmony , where the music-energetic effect and application are conveyed.
