Hermann Freiherr von Hornstein-Hohenstoffeln-Binningen (born October 8, 1843 in Binningen , † October 13, 1893 in Constance ) was a landowner and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Hermann von Hornstein attended the grammar school and lyceum in Konstanz and the universities of Freiburg , Heidelberg , Graz and the Hohenheim Academy . At first he was a forest intern in Sigmaringen and then managed his father's estate. Since 1873 he has been farming and forestry on his estate in Binningen near Hilzingen .

He founded a dairy school, was involved in a local livestock insurance association on both sides and in consumer associations. He was also a member of the district management, the district committee and the central committee of the agricultural association and the committee of the state horse breeding association in the Grand Duchy of Baden. He was also a substitute in the German Agriculture Council and a member of the district committee of the Konstanz district.

From 1884 he was a member of the 1st Baden Chamber of Estates and from 1884 until his death he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Baden 2 ( Donaueschingen , Villingen ). Although von Hornstein belonged to the German Conservative Party , since he was always nominated as a joint candidate of the Conservatives and the National Liberals in the constituency , he remained non-attached in the Reichstag.
